The "donkey" continues to be a symbol of humiliation despite the difficulty of traversing a tough journey and the capacity to recall a similar route and identify his owner in any throng. Remember, that there is no other animal that is superior to a donkey when you refer to someone in a very sarcastic way as a "donkey." A perfect illustration of love can be seen among donkeys when they touch each other while also enjoying nature's beauty. It is quite regrettable that donkeys are rarely used as "agricultural animals."

There is a total of 142 donkey farms in India, Aby Baby was the first to start a donkey farm. However, it was hardly considered important compared to cow and buffalo shelter. Ever since the Karnataka guy left his IT job to start donkey farming, people are trying to understand the benefits of donkey farming for milk and other products other than meat. Since an IT guy left is good income, people understand the profit behind starting a donkey farm. And yes, donkey farm has a lot of profit in total.

The value of donkey farming, particularly its milk for human welfare and its manure for crops, is yet unknown to farmers. In the market, 1000ml of milk costs up to Rs. 2000-Rs 7000. Great organic manure is donkey faeces. Donkey faeces is highly sought-after, just like donkey milk. Reaching the bigger corporate world will be made possible by realising the donkey's limitless potential as a symbol of innocence.

NPCS will help you understand how donkey farming can be started to earn business and revenue.

The milk is especially well-liked by parents of new-borns because it is said to help children develop their immune. In communities, the donkey’s milk frequently takes the place of mother's milk because it is just as nutrient-dense.

Since donkey's milk is the closest to human milk, even new-born babies are given one spoon of it in addition to their mother's milk. It contains anti-microbial elements like lysozyme. It is abundant in these elements and excellent for boosting immunity.

Donkey Management

Donkeys are renowned around the world for their calm demeanour. They enjoy grazing in herds on the meadows. They like finely sliced fodder. Pineapples are a good source of nutrients for young donkeys and pregnant donkeys. When feeding, they don't chew as other animals do. For the donkeys’ health, a diet rich in rice bran and corn bran is recommended. 9 litres of water can be contained in the donkey's tummy. The donkey is a very resilient animal that can tolerate any adverse weather.

Nutritional Necessities

Donkeys must have constant access to shelter and water to maintain the barest standards of their welfare and health, a risk-free environment that is safe and clean, and a low-sugar, high-fibre diet should be offered. In other words, donkeys require a diet that is high in fibre and low in calories, sugars, starch/carbohydrates, and protein. The main components of the donkey diet should be high-quality barley or oat straw and constrained access to grass.

It is estimated that the crude protein requirement for donkeys will fall between 3.8 and 7.4% of the diet as opposed to 8 to 12% of the -diet for adult horses. According to a study, a donkey can often eat 1.3% to 3.8% of dry stuff of its body weight. This is equivalent to 2kg to 3kg of dry matter each day for a 180 kg donkey.

Land Acquisition

Donkeys are animals that are meant to do laborious work. Therefore, keeping them idle in one place can be harmful to their health. Moreover, from time to time they need breeding, and feeding grass, which requires a larger land than expected. Though people can start with small land if they are breeding a limited number of donkeys. However, if the herd is large, the land must be enough to keep space between each donkey rather than keeping them clustered.
