Government Approves Scheme for IncreasingEthanol Production.
The govt’s move will help bear theinterest of loans taken for setting up ethanol distilleries for a period of 5years
TheCabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved a modifiedscheme for extending interest subvention for those setting up grain-based alongwith molasses-based ethanol distilleries.
Thetotal outlay of the scheme is Rs.8,460 crorefor increasing India’s ethanol production capacity, with the schemeextended to those setting up distilleries using grain, molasses, dual feed,sugar beet, sweet sorghum, and cereals as a feedstock.
