MARKETING ASSISTANCE FOR EXHIBITIONS
NSIC provides Marketing Assistance in the form of encouraging MSME units to participate in Domestic as well as International Exhibitions and exhibit their products to a large number of visitors by subsidizing the stall charges based on their classification viz. Micro, Small or Medium, and subsidies ranging from 40% to 95%.
RAW MATERIAL ASSISTANCE FOR BULK MATERIAL PURCHASERS LIKE ALUMINIUM, IRON AND STEEL & COPPER
As the individual requirements of SSI units for Raw Materials are very small, they are not able to procure the Raw Materials at their best prices. Keeping this in mind and in order to make our raw material assistance scheme more lucrative, NSIC has tied up with Following manufacturers of Raw material for bulk procurements on behalf of our associate SSI units. NSIC has MOU with NALCO wherein discounts upto 6000 PMT are passed on directly to the units. NSIC falls in the highest lifting bracket as our all India lifting is clubbed and quantity discounts are received accordingly.
A) NALCOfor Aluminium (Discounts upto 6000/- PMT)
B) SAILand RINLfor Iron & Steel (Priority Lifting & Discounts)
C) Hindustan Copper Ltd for Copper (Priority Lifting)
NSIC receives higher discounts on purchases due to bulk quantities, the discounts are passed on to the associate SSI units thereby enabling them to procure material at cheaper rates.
GOVERNMENT PURCHASE PROGRAMME
The Government is the largest single buyer of a variety of goods and with a view to increase the share of purchases from small scale sector; the Government Stores Purchase Programme was launched in the year 1956.
Under the programme NSIC enlist Small Scale Industries units as competent to undertake supply of various items to the Government. The units registered with NSIC under the scheme are given the following facilities: -
1. Issue of Competency Certificate
2. Issuance of tender forms free of cost.
3. Exemption from payment of earnest money.
4. Waiver of security deposit upto monetary limit for which the unit is registered.
5. Price preference up to 15% over the quotation of large scale units.
TENDER MARKETING SCHEME
NSIC provides diversified marketing support in order to reach multi product, multi client and multi location market. The Corporation participates in bulk local / global tenders inquiries of Central / State Government / Public Sector enterprises on behalf of SSI’s. Under this programme the Corporation continues to identify items and participates in their tenders. On receipt of orders the Corporation place orders to SSI units on whose behalf it has quoted the tender.
The unit has to pay to the corporation a nominal service charge of 1% of the value of the tender received, but after the execution of the tender and receipt of payment from the tenderer.
PERFORMANCE & CREDIT RATING SCHEME FOR SMALL INDUSTRIES
Fast changing global economic scenario leads to many opportunities & challenges for the Small Scale Industries. The mechanism of Rating of Small Scale Industries was referred by Hon’ble Finance Minister in budget speech for Union Budget 2004-05. A Performance & Credit rating Scheme for Small Industries has been formulated with involvement of Rating Agencies & Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). NSIC has been appointed Nodal Agency by Govt. of India. The scheme has the approval of IBA.
Benefits to SSI Sector
- An independent, trusted third party opinion on capabilities and credit worthiness of SSI units.
- Good rating to enhance the acceptability of the SSI units with Banks, FIs, SSI’s customers and buyers.
- Facilitate prompter credit decisions from Banks on proposals of SSI units.
- Facilitate vendors buyers in capability & capacity assessment of SSI units before finalizing major purchase contracts.
- Enable SSI units to ascertain the strengths and weaknesses of their existing operations and take corrective measures to enhance their organizational strength.
- Banks & Financial institutions by providing them an independent evaluation of the strength and weaknesses of the applicant unit helping them in taking a credit decision and leveraging their risks.
The rating fee charged by Rating Agencies is subsidized by Ministry of MSME through NSIC upto 75%.
