Prime Minister launches Stand Up India Scheme to boost entrepreneurship
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the Stand Up India initiative, which aims to boost entrepreneurship among the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Women. He voiced that ‘Stand up India' aims to empower every Indian and enable them to stand on their own feet. He also expressed that 'Stand up India' seeks to empower the poor & the marginalised and make them self-sufficient & self-reliant.
Highlighting the importance of the Stand Up India Scheme, Hon’ble Prime minister said that the job seeker has to become a job creator. Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi announced that the initiative envisages loans to at least two aspiring entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Women categories. It was also announced that the loan shall be in the ten lakh to one crore rupee range.
Explaining his vision for converting job seekers into job creators, the Prime Minister said the Stand Up India initiative will transform the lives of the Dalits and the Adivasis. The Prime Minister held the view that India’s development journey will be stronger when it is scripted by the poor. He urged the gathering to educate their children, and especially the girl child.
