Production of Artemisinin from Artemisia Annua Plant. Industrial Production Estimation and Utilization of Artemisinin.
Artemisinin and its semisynthetic derivatives are a class of medications used to treat Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Artemisinin-based combination treatments (ACTs) are now the standard treatment for malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum and other Plasmodium species all throughout the world. Artemisinin is derived from the herb Artemisia annua, sometimes known as sweet wormwood, which has been used in Chinese traditional medicine for centuries.
