Aluminium is 100% recyclable and experiences no loss of properties or quality during the recycling process. Recycling aluminium also uses only 5% of the energy used to create new aluminium and emits only 5% of the greenhouse gases.
Aluminium accounts for 30% of India’s overall aluminium consumption of 3.3 million tonnes per year. In the past six years, secondary aluminium demand has almost doubled to 1.1 million tonnes, of which some 90% is imported. By 2021, demand is expected to reach 1.5 million tonnes. Ingots are very large casting products, greater in size and shape than blooms, billets and slabs. Entrepreneurs who invest in this project will be successful.
