Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery is a type of rechargeable battery in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to positive electrode during discharge and back when charging. The electrolyte, which allows for ionic movement, and the two electrodes are the constituent components of a lithium-ion battery cell. If you opt to make them yourself, then that step will occur here as well. Afterward, manufacturers seal each cell into an airtight plastic pouch and place all of these pouches together into a larger metal case (called a module). They also connect these modules together using copper wire. This way, when electricity flows between one module and another within your battery pack, it can travel quickly between them. Finally, they attach connectors to either end of the wires so that you can easily plug your device into a power source. And voila! You have a lithium ion battery pack.
