Introduction
Trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) belongs to the N-Chloro-imides and N-chloroamides class. Because of their chlorinating and oxidizing properties, they are widely used as bleaching agents, disinfectants, and bactericides. Their reactivity is close to that of N-chloramines, but they're less stable. N-chloramides are widely used as sanitizing agents and in water purification protocols. Because of their ease of handling and storage, N-chloramides are commonly used in organic synthesis. N-chlorosuccin-imide (NCS) is the most widely used N-chloramide, but unlike TCCA, it is thermally unstable and can explode at high temperatures.
TCCA has three chlorine atoms per molecule, similar to other N-chlorinated analogues including N-chlorosuccinimide, Chloro-amine-T, tert-butyl-N-chlorocyanamide, and 1-chlorobenzotriaz-ole. Trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) is usually manufactured and delivered in the form of chlorine granules or tablets. This makes managing, packaging, storing, and application a breeze. The compound is distributed in a rough powder-like state with 8-30 or 20-60 mesh granules in its chlorine granular state. It is commonly packaged in 3g, 10g, 20g, 200g, 500g, and other sizes for its chlorine tablet condition. It's also a white crystalline (sand-like) powder with a chlorine-like odour that's typically used in industrial and household applications. It's also available in tablet and granular form to monitor algae and destroy bacteria all over the world.
Uses of Trichloroisocyanuric Acid
Swimming pools use Trichloroisocyanuric acid, which is less toxic than chlorine gas. It dissolves slowly in water, but as it reacts, the concentration of cyanuric acid in the pool will increase. The chemical is primarily used as a disinfectant, algicide, and bactericide in swimming pools and dyestuffs, as well as a bleaching agent in the textile industry. It's commonly used in pool and spa sanitation, disease prevention and care in animal husbandry and fisheries, fruit and vegetable protection, wastewater treatment, algicide for recycled water in industry and air conditioning, anti-shrink treatment for woolens, seed treatment, and organic chemical synthesis. It is used in chemical synthesis as a chlorine gas source that is easy to store and transport, is not subject to hazardous gas shipping limits, and produces relatively pure chlorine when reacting with hydrochloric acid.
Market Outlook of Trichloroisocyanuric Acid
The Trichloroisocyanuric Acid Market is divided into commodity, application, and regional segments. Powder, granular, and tablet are the different types of products. Water care, sericulture and aquaculture, frequent disinfection, and other applications are segmented. Geographically, the Trichloroisocyanuric Acid Market is divided into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Rest of the World. Each geographic market is further segmented to provide market revenue for specific countries like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Japan, India, Brazil, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Due to increasing demand for Trichloroisocyanuric acid in applications such as water treatment, agriculture & aquaculture, and routine disinfection in residential applications, the global Trichloroisocyanuric acid market is expected to grow at a significant rate over the forecast period.
The Trichloroisocyanuric Acid Market is expected to exceed more than US$ 4420 Million by 2025 at a CAGR of 8.6%.
